Record-breaking heat waves, devastating wildfires and flash floods – 2022 seems to have already taken on apocalyptic proportions. And still, according to climate scientists, the real catastrophe is yet to come.
Despite (or rather, because of) this impending doom, we believe that now is not the time to stick our heads in the sand. Instead, we want to help our readers stay on top of published climate research, explore new perspectives on global warming and discover innovative ways to reduce humanity’s carbon footprint.
To that end, we have curated a multidisciplinary collection of journal articles, book chapters and blog posts from De Gruyter and our publisher partners that deal with the mechanisms and effects of climate change as well as possible solutions to avert the worst-case scenario.
How do migratory animals cope with changing seasonal cues? What is the role of green chemistry in tackling climate change? And how can businesses become truly sustainable? These are just a few questions to be answered in our showcase. We hope they spark your interest and perhaps even encourage the climate action that is now more urgently needed than ever.
