the TRENDS IN CLASSICS BOOK PRIZE

We are happy to announce the 2025 edition of the Trends in Classics Book Prize.

Trends in Classics is an English-language cluster of publications that started in 2008 as a journal and a book series, edited by Franco Montanari and Antonios Rengakos.

About the award

Despite the delays that the pandemic caused, the first edition of the Trends in Classics Book Prize in 2023 was a success both in terms of number and quality of submissions received. Since then, we have one more reason to celebrate: the launch of our new series Trends in Classics – Greek and Latin Linguistics.

As of today, the cluster comprises the journal Trends in Classics and five book series:

Trends in Classics – Supplementary Volumes
Trends in Classics – Pathways of Reception
Trends in Classics – Scholarship in the Making
Trends in Classics – Key Perspectives on Classical Research
Trends in Classics – Greek and Latin Linguistics

The prize will be awarded to the best early-career scholarly monograph in Classical Studies. Participation is open to academics whose PhD thesis is no more than three years old.
